Interview from IBN Live

Kartik Tiwari was supposed to become an engineer but his passion for films steered him to Mumbai, the city of dreams. Director Luv Ranjan’s ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’ turned out to be a surprise hit and Kartik gained fame for his frustrated speech in the film. His second film ‘Akaash Vani’ is hitting the screens on January 25. The actor throws some light on the content of ‘Akaash Vani’ in a candid conversation with IBNLive.

Q: We hear you are playing an extrovert in the film?

A: I am playing a typical ‘Chandigarh ka launda’ in ‘Akaash Vani’ who is bold to the point of being shameless and very outspoken. He speaks whatever comes to his mind. He doesn’t differentiate between boys and girls when it comes to saying silly things. Akaash has explored a lot in life and is very close to his father. He is dominating sort of a guy, I mean even if he is going to drink for the first time his father would have invited him to drink.

His directorial debut, PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA, was a revitalizing take on romance. A satire on the affairs of heart. The story of three friends and the tumultuous relationships they share with the women in their lives, PYAAR KA PUNCHNAMA was lapped up for its spanking new concept, straight out of life situations, witty one-liners and crackling hilarity. Director Luv Ranjan endeavors a contrast in AKAASHVANI, his second outing.

From its trailer clips, it’s palpable that AKAASHVANI too fits in the romantic variety, a genre that’s beaten to death by the dream merchants in Mumbai. But Luv Ranjan assures that AKAASHVANI does not veer into the banal and repetitive zone, does not become just an additional love yarn to hit the Hindi screen. Sure, it’s about a good looking pair and the ups and downs in their lives. But what you carry home, besides this loveable pair, are some incredible moments that arouse myriad emotions as you partake in Akaash and Vani’s journey. This in itself is the strength of this endeavor! Read Full Review Here

AKAASH VANI Movie Review: Engrossing & enjoyable

This is a relevant film for parents and youngsters. It deals with a very complex situation, does not give you any answers and towards the end, sends you home allowing you to form your own views. These are the elements which prompt me to give three stars to this film.

Initially, the film goes ‘all over place’ with director Luv Ranjan not able to ‘compact’ the story with a healthy screenplay. In trying to establish the romance of Akaash (Kartik Tiwari) and Vani (Nushrat Bharucha), he visits a college campus, throws in a little bit of ragging, a half a class, and two friends for comfort. That establishes the first half which explains that the two are in college for some three years and their friendship blossoms. Read Full Review here .

AkaashVani Review: A Pure Radio Love!

The movie had pretty good expectations, especially among youth, considering the makers of the film who had made a cult movie ‘Pyaar Ka Punchnama’. Directed by Luv Ranjan, and Produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak, the lead pair Kartik and Nushrat also featured in the former movie, which is why the expectations are quite raised. Moreover, according to the storyline, genre and promos, it makes an ideal movie for the campus crowd. Let us see how much it had entertained the masses!  Read Full Review Here
